Stop Think Act Program - Farm Safe, Not Lucky
Stop Think Act Program
Farm Safe, Not Lucky
In collaboration with Imperial Oil and their Esso branded bulk fuel resellers, WSPS and its network of rural volunteers are helping farmers, agriculture workers and farm families keep safe through a program called Stop Think Act (STA).
As a component of Imperial’s own well-established safety program, STA is a simple, yet powerful behaviour-based safety program that encourages people to consider the task at hand and ask themselves how their own actions could contribute to a safe and productive outcome.
Using a self-questioning methodology, the program advises people to think carefully about how they are about to perform a task and stop if it can’t be done safely.
WSPS volunteers are being trained as Stop Think Act ambassadors to share this safety awareness message.
Introduction Video
This video outlines why the Stop Think Act program was created and how it can be applied to change behaviour and keep farmers, other workers and their families safe. It presents practical examples to illustrate how the program works in all the sectors we serve.

Stop Think Act Topic-Specific Videos
Imperial and WSPS have developed a series of short Stop Think Act videos on specific farm safety topics. These short videos apply the STA methodology in practical ways in agricultural and rural workplaces.
