From October 31 to December 28, 2022, the MLITSD conducted an enforcement initiative focusing on the prevention of occupational disease. In industrial workplaces, the focus of the initiative will be on awareness and prevention of exposure to crystalline silica. The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) conducted a Healthy Workers in Healthy Workplaces initiative in all sectors to focus on the prevention of occupational disease.  In industrial workplaces, the focus of the initiative was on awareness and prevention of exposure to crystalline silica. The initiative focused on prevention of occupational disease and silica exposure ran from October 3 to December 30, with focused inspections beginning on October 31st, 2022.
