A lot of legislation doesn't seem to consider the unique needs of small workplaces; but you could say that the right to participate is, well, a "right" they got "right". You don't have to do all of this alone; in fact, the law has been set up in such a way that you can't. Be clear — the role of the Health & Safety Representative or Joint Health & Safety Committee is not to "do" health and safety for your workplace. Their role is to support and make recommendations for the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace. It's a partnership, it's a dialogue; it means that every day, everyone is working toward the same goal. step 5: The Internal Responsibility System in Action
