Success Factors and Challenges The company experienced the following successes: Employees were involved in changes and suggested improvements to processes. Employees felt more comfortable using mobile platforms when handling materials. The preventative maintenance program improved the condition of the mobile platform. The company found productivity increased when tasks were optimized for human capabilities. By using different attachments on the reach truck it meant less physical work for the employees resulting in less fatigue. Some challenges that were identified were: Process changes were difficult to implement. The unpredictability of the special orders made it a challenge to reorganize the location of these items on the racking. Some employees found the change disruptive. Mechanical equipment was not always available which meant more manual handling of materials. 6. Transferability The company has decided this process is applicable to all areas of the warehouse.
