PSYCHOLOGICAL AND
SOCIAL SUPPORT
It can be difficult to navigate a workday when your focus is pulled
elsewhere – whether that is to a difficult conversation you had with
a coworker, or to challenges at home. The ability to feel supported
during these difficult times and speak openly to your peers or
supervisor means there is a strong sense of psychological and social
support in the workplace. An environment where there is a level of
trust and social connections within the workplace and employees feel
the organization is supportive of their concerns is a psychologically
supportive environment. In this workplace, employees are more likely
to seek and receive the help they need and are better equipped to
stay working productively.
