Setting the Stage The purpose of the Culture Building Block is to assist in exploring how to define what a caring culture is and is not. Culture is not concrete or factual. Culture is based on what the average employee believes and feels to be true (e.g. the company cares about me or does not care about me). Cultures need to be fed for them to thrive. Human beings, are emotional and they remember negative experiences (e.g. what feels wrong, bad, or hurtful) much longer than positive experiences. This is why, to create a psychologically safe workplace, it is critical to not underestimate the impact the employee experience will have on their emotional well being.
