General Questions
I do not have an ergonomics program. Is it required?
The short answer is no. An official program is not required. However, employers are still required
to identify hazards related to MSDs and treat them the same as any other workplace hazard. This
means they need to be:
recognized and identified
assessed
eliminated or controlled
An ergonomics program or MSD prevention program is the best way to be proactive in identifying
MSD hazards and eliminating and controlling them. WSPS will assist you in understanding what
you are already doing to prevent MSDs and identify where you need to fill in the gaps.
