Loads could tip and fall. Sec. 45 Reg. 851 Place all pallet loads on racking whenever possible. Provide staging area for loads, single stack at end of aisles. Secure loose loads with strapping, wrapping or other means. 2 Pedestrian struck by mobile equipment. Unstable load contacting pedestrian when mobile equipment stops quickly. Sec. 20 Reg. 851 Install mirrors at intersections, blind corners, and doorways where material handling equipment and pedestrians come together. Install barriers such as guardrails and bollards where space permits. Add floor markings to separate pedestrians from mobile equipment traffic. Ensure load is secured when on forks to prevent movement. 3 Operating mobile equipment in unsafe manner. Operator not looking in direction of travel. C.S.A. B-335 Enforce safe operator practices such as: Sound horn at blind corners and intersections to warn pedestrians. Drive slowly around pedestrians and prepare to stop at intersections. Make eye contact with pedestrian and provide right of way. Communicate such as by hand gesture. Drive with an unobstructed view and look in the direction of travel.
