By releasing or blocking any stored energy, you can ensure that the equipment remains in a zero-energy state, which will prevent injuries to employees from hazardous energy. Lockout is required when conducting activities such as maintenance of equipment, set-up, removal of jams or clogs and during housekeeping/cleaning.
