Key things to remember when organizing work:
1. Ensure workers have the physical
space to position themselves safely for
manual material handling tasks without
obstructions. Workers should be able
to work in a neutral position, without
twisting the back and neck, or reaching
far out from the body or overhead.
2. Avoid designing work that requires
workers to reach far out from the
body or overhead by organizing
the work properly. This may include
storing heavier items between chest
and thigh level.

3. Ensure workers know how to lift materials safely, including understanding how to
maintain neutral position and lift using their leg and glute muscles. Train workers how to
lift safely, monitor to confirm that they are lifting properly, and listen to worker concerns.
