13 the highest rates; 19.6 fatalities per 100,000 farm population and 17.1 fatalities per 100,000 population respectively. The age group with the highest fatality rate was those 80 years of age and older, with a rate of 50.1 fatalities per 100,000 farm population (n=21). 4.3 FATAL AGRICULTURE-RELATED INJURIES BY SEASON, 2011-2020 The top mechanisms of injury accounted for 70% of spring agriculture-related deaths, 46% of the deaths in the summer, 49% of the deaths in the fall and 65% of the deaths in the winter. Overall, runovers accounted for 17% of all agriculture-related deaths, rollovers accounted for 13% and struck by non-machine object accounted for 11%. The percentages are based on all injury fatalities within each season. Not adjusted for seasonal variability.^ 4.4 FATAL AGRICULTURE-RELATED INJURIES BY NUMBER / RATE BY AGE GROUP, 2011-2020 The overall Ontario agriculture fatality rate was 8.5 per 100,000 farm population. The overall rate Canadian fatality rate was 10.7 deaths per 100,000 farm population.
