falling or propelling fatalities accounted for 4%
each. Animal-related fatalities accounted for 3%.
There were an additional 32 agriculture-related
fatalities involving 14 other mechanisms of injury
that were not included in the above graph.
4.7 FATAL AGRICULTURE-RELATED INJURIES BY THE TOP 10 CAUSE OF INJURY,
2011 – 2020
Over a third of all agriculture-related fatalities in
Ontario (41%) were due to three machine-related
causes: machine runovers, machine rollovers,
and struck by non-machine object (total of 64
fatalities).
Machine runovers and machine rollovers
accounted for 17% and 13% of fatalities
respectively. Being struck by non-machine
