What would life be like for you if you lost a hand because of something that happened at work? It is essen�al that proper work prac�ces be u�lized to ensure grinder and chipper opera�ons are undertaken in a safe manner. Prevention Points Review the General Health & Safety Best Practices section on page 7 before performing any task. Shut down equipment before removing clogged materials or making adjustments. Disengage clutch, remove the key and lockout controls. Refer to original equipment manufacturer. Never attempt to feed small, short pieces of wood by hand. Use longer pieces to push smaller pieces in the equipment. Never place any body parts in the in-feed chute for any reason while the machine is operating. Never place yourself in front of the discharge chute or try to clear the chute manually. ! ?
