In a period of 7 consecutive days, a driver cannot drive after being on-duty for 70 hours. 2. In a period of 14 consecutive days, a driver cannot drive after being on-duty for 120 hours. – In this cycle, drivers cannot drive after accumulating 70 hours on-duty without taking 24 consecutive hours off-duty. Refer to the company's policy and procedures for further details, key responsibilities and required actions. For more detailed information on Hours of Service requirements, please visit the MTO website and the Ontario Regulation 555/06 under the Highway Traffic Act. ACTION! Discuss the exceptions under the regulations with your crew. Driving: Driving times may be exceeded by up to two hours if: 1. The driver encounters adverse weather or driving conditions not known by the driver or dispatcher at the beginning of the trip. 2. The driver could have completed the trip under normal circumstances within the times established.
