While not typically fatal, power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, sanders, etc., can cause severe enough injuries to take you away from the job. Prevention Points Review the General Health & Safety Best Practices section on page 7 before performing any task. All power tools must be sharpened, have proper electrical grounding, and in good working condition at all times. Disengage all power sources before cleaning or maintaining equipment. Check the electrical cord regularly for cuts or wear. Keep the cord behind you at all times to avoid clipping it. Leave enough slack for normal work motion. Use both hands to hold and guide tools. Use only CSA approved powered tools. Avoid using power tools in damp weather or wet conditions. Store power tools in their storage cases, with guards in place and ensure it is secured while in transport. ! ACTION!
