A disabling injury can result impacting the worker's ability to do their job. A well-designed workplace combined with effective workplans, policies and programs lead to the prevention of slips, trips, and falls. A robust housekeeping program, including prompt clean-up of spills and maintaining obstruction-free walkways can be an important means to mitigate the risk. Involving key stakeholders, including affected workers, can go a long way to ensure safe conditions and practices are developed, applied, and maintained.
