Ensure all containers of hazardous products entering the workplace are labelled with a supplier label. Ensure workplace labels are applied when necessary. Update labels and SDSs when significant new data becomes available. Ensure that copies of the SDSs are readily accessible for workers. Develop a SDS for any hazardous product produced internally. Provide training to workers on procedures for the safe use, storage, handling and disposal of a hazardous product. Develop and implement procedures when fugitive emissions are present. Develop and implement emergency procedures in the event of an emergency involving a hazardous product. Take all reasonable precautions to protect the health and safety of workers. 3. Supervisors Provide training and instruction on workplace hazards and safe operating procedures, including requirements outlined in a SDS. Enforce the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Inform workers of any potential or actual dangers outlined in a SDS. Take all reasonable precautions to protect the health and safety of workers. 4. Workers Attend both generic and workplace specific WHMIS training, and comply with instructions and requirements outlined in workplace labels and SDSs. Follow all health and safety requirements outlined in safe operating procedures. Properly use or wear the required equipment, clothing or protective devices. Ensure workplace labels are attached to containers with hazardous products, as needed. Report missing information or damaged labels or SDSs.
