Precautionary Statements: – P210: Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. – P233: Keep container tightly closed. – P240: Ground and bond container and receiving equipment. – P241: Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting/ equipment. – P242: Use non-sparking tools. – P243: Take action to prevent static discharges. – P260: Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. – P264: Wash skin thoroughly after handling. – P270: Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. – P271: Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. – P280: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. – P301/P310/P330: IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor. Rinse mouth. Be aware that some Hazard Classes do not require a pictogram (ex. Combustible Dusts, Reproductive Toxicity via Lactation). It is still important to safeguard against products without pictograms. The signal word for this product, "DANGER", signifies that the product is very harmful. Hazard Statements are standard codes (HXXX – ex. H225) and phrases (ex. highly flammable liquid and vapor) that indicate what and how severe the hazard may be. They are assigned based on the Hazard Classes, Hazard Categories, and Hazard Types, of the product. Precautionary Statements are standard codes (PXXX – ex. P233) and phrases (ex. keep container tightly closed) that describe measures to minimize or prevent harmful effects from the product. There are 5 types of precautionary statements: – i) General (P1XX – e.g. P102: Keep out of reach of children); – ii) Prevention (P2XX – e.g. P223: Do not allow contact with water); – iii) Response (P3XX – e.g. P314: Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell); – iv) Storage (P4XX – e.g. P405 Store locked up); – v) Disposal (P5XX – e.g. P502 Refer to manufacturer or supplier for information on recovery or recycling). They are assigned based on the Hazard Classes, Hazard Categories, and Hazard Types, of the product. ** Note that the term "Vapor" refers to the gas phase of a material that is typically a liquid or solid at room temperature and pressure.
