Questions To Get You Started How often do you inspect your storage systems? Are there any challenges you're facing with your current storage systems? Can you describe your current storage systems? Have you ever experienced any safety issues related to your storage systems? Consider the following vital practices to ensure your storage systems are effective and safe: Safe Placement and Storage of Materials Ensure materials are stacked securely and not too high to prevent toppling. Use appropriate shelving and racking that can handle the weight and size of the materials. Keep heavier items on lower shelves to reduce the risk of injury from lifting. Safe Removal and Withdrawal of Materials Train workers on proper lifting techniques and operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks. Ensure aisles and pathways are kept clear to permit easy access to materials. Implement a system for regularly checking and maintaining equipment used for material handling. Securing Racking Against Tipping Anchor racking systems on the floor to prevent tipping. Inspect racks for damage or wear and repair or replace as needed. Avoid overloading racks beyond their specified weight limits. Storage Systems WSPS.CA PREVENT POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND PREPARE FOR AN MLITSD INSPECTION
