When do machines need safeguarding?
A guard is necessary if a machine meets the MAC criteria:

If someone can reach AROUND, UNDER, THROUGH or OVER (AUTO)

Tips to Remember:
• Everyone is responsible for workplace safety
• Never remove or make ineffective any safeguarding devices placed on machinery
• Recognize hazards with MAC
• Check the effectiveness of guarding with AUTO
Contact your supervisor immediately, if you notice any
missing, damaged or inadequate guarding.
