What precau�ons can you take to prevent incidents? When loading and unloading equipment or product, it is important to make yourself and co-worker highly visible to oncoming traffic with the use of warning signs, orange cones and safety vests. Prevention Points When controlling traffic consider: Review the General Health & Safety Best Practices section on page 7 before performing any task. Hand signals should be communicated and understood. Ensure appropriate supervision is always available to clarify the details of the job or concerns which may arise. Review the site for traffic flow and note potential problem areas and determine safe parking locations. Use orange coloured pylons, flags, flashing lights and reflective coloured barricades to control and slow the traffic. Use Caution, Slow or Stop signs where appropriate. Use signs at least 0.5 m by 0.5 m (20" x 20") on a pole 1.2 m long (4 feet). All traffic routes must be kept open, clear of snow, ice, debris and fuel storage materials, machinery and vehicles. Refer to Book 7: Ontario Traffic Manual for more information on requirements for traffic management. ! ? ACTION!
