Dale Wales

From an iron ore mine in the Canadian Arctic to the depths of a Panamanian copper mine, Dale has shared his expertise in the discipline of confined space as a first responder, educator and municipal Fire Chief. Now in his role as Specialized Consultant with WSPS, his lifetime commitment to safety continues.

Born and raised on farm, Dale learned the value of safety and safety awareness early on. He is certified in confined space rescue and technical rope rescue, a hazardous materials technician, certified Fire Officer and professional fire fighter. Dale has seen first-hand the tragic cost when health and safety is disregarded. His insights and experience as Manager of the School of Fire Sciences led to the development and delivery of the pre-service and Industrial Fire Fighter programs at Lambton College. He’s made it his mission to make a positive impact and educating the next generation of first responders, he says, is one of his most meaningful accomplishments.

“I feel a great sense of pride watching my previous graduates excel in the fire services. They have become Fire Chiefs in both municipal and Industrial services and I’ve been honored to see so many students rising through the ranks in the field.”
