Michael uses his knowledge of legislation, standards and good practices to help WSPS' customers achieve success. His goal is to "ensure the chances of everyone having a safe day at work are as close to 100% as possible."
A professional engineer and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Michael also holds designations as a Certified Machinery Safety Expert and Functional Safety Engineer. Over his 25-year career, Michael has become a well-respected authority on machine safety and robotics, contributing to several CSA and ISO technical committees, writing articles for trade publications, and delivering presentations at conferences.
Early on, Michael worked as an engineer in manufacturing and consulting firms where he was responsible for modernization projects, equipment safety and Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews. Before joining WSPS, his expertise grew to include hazard identification, risk assessment, robot safety, press safety, hazardous energy control and conveyor safety.
Today, Michael provides consulting and training services to WSPS' member firms, and is energized by the constant change his work entails. "Equipment and related safety applications continue to evolve. And the situation, the customer, challenges and solutions are different every day."
