Whether she’s conducting ergonomic assessments, physical or cognitive demands analyses, or training workplace parties on hazards related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), Tanya has one goal in mind: “to ensure that at the end of the day, workers are not in pain due to sore muscles from working in awkward postures, or from forceful exertions or repetition.”
Tanya is a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) and a Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin) with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and an Occupational Hygiene and Safety Certificate from Humber College. In addition to her consulting work with customers in Central and Northern Ontario, Tanya mentors firms participating in WSIB’s Health & Safety Excellence program.
Working with firms of all sizes in such diverse sectors as office, manufacturing and mining is challenging and rewarding, says Tanya. She particularly enjoys, “being able to direct small firms to resources they may not otherwise know about.” Feedback from customers is universally positive. “Often, what they thought was going to be a very expensive fix turned out to be an easy solution.”
